FENLAND is set to lose another pub after a proposal to transform the old Hammer & Anvil in March into a private home was submitted to the district council.
The application seeks to convert the Hammer & Anvil, in Dartford Road, into a four-bedroom family home.
The pub had been closed for some time before it was purchased by the applicants, who intend to remarket the property as “executive housing”.
The proposal includes plans to add a double garage, with an area for bike storage, and a first floor extension to the current premises.
It also hopes to excavate large areas of tarmac, replacing it with topsoil to provide a lawn, patio and decking area.
