A FENLAND-based theatre drapes company was called upon at short notice to provide skirts for a Boyzone concert at the O2 Arena.
Cameo Curtains, of Chatteris, provided 24 1ft long skirts for the backing singers. The shimmering skirts made from silver lame unfurled as the singers were lifted into the air on stage.
Soames Springthorpe, sales director, said: “It was really exciting for our staff to know that they were helping to make a great concert, seen by thousands, even more spectacular.
“This is not the first time Cameo has been asked to play a supporting role, Sir Cliff Richard and Strictly Come Dancing have also used drapes and garments made by our sewing room.
“It was a nice diversion from our traditional business of stage and theatre curtains.”
