A LAWYER working for Fraser Dawbarns Solicitors was one of only ten invited by the Institute of Legal Executives to attend the Opening of the Legal Year in London on 1st October.

Catherine Spencer, a Legal Executive Advocate working at the firm’s Wisbech office, took part in a procession at Westminster Abbey as part of the special event, dressed in her official advocate’s robes for the day.

The procession was headed up by the Lord Chancellor Ken Clark, The Lord Chief Justice and Judges from the European Courts, the High Courts and Lord Justices of the Appeal Court. Thereafter Catherine attended a reception at the House of Lords which included a meeting with the Lord Chancellor.

After enjoying this unique experience Catherine said: “It was an amazing day and simply an honour to be invited to attend such an historic ceremony. I would like to thank the Institute of Legal Executives for inviting me and recognising the work we do for the local community in Wisbech.”
