A village store and post office has a new look after undergoing a major renovation and today (Monday) local MP Steve Barclay went along to officially re-open the business.

The store in Park Road closed its doors for a week while the premises were transformed from a Londis shop to One Stop - part of the Tesco family.

The shop actually re-opened for customers on Friday when there was a fancy dress competition for children aged under 10. Parliamentary commitments meant Mr Barclay was unavailable to perform the official opening until today when customers were treated to cake and wine to mark the occasion.

Run by Bharat and Manju Sisodiya with help from their children Virsinh and Punam as well as other staff, the shop is also home to the village Post Office but technical problems with the computer system meant that could not be opened. However, it is due to open on Friday (November 7).
