PET food output at the Wisbech Nestle Purina plant is to be stepped up if permission is given to install a new chimney to serve the existing pouch production line.
Fenland planners have been asked to allow the company to build the five and a half feet wide, 50 feet tall chimney.
“The proposal seeks permission for an additional chimney to protrude through the roof of the existing pouch four production building,” says the company.
“The scale of the proposed equipment is in line with the existing equipment located in the area and accords with the scale of recent developments on the Nestle site.”
The company promises the expansion will provide “real benefits to the site with the provision of plant equipment to upgrade the efficiency of the existing production facility.”
