Thirty new jobs have been created with the opening this week of a new bargain store in Wisbech.

Poundworld is set to official open its first shop in Wisbech on the newly completed Cromwell Retail Park at 10am on Thursday (October 16) when customers will have a chance to meet Olaf the snowman from Disney’s film Frozen.

Family-run Poundworld was founded in 1997 and has over 250 store across the UK. It was recently the subject of popular BBC1 documentary ‘Pound Shop Wars’.

With over 5,000 products for the bargain price of £1, savvy shoppers can take advantage of consistently great deals on thousands of leading brands. As part of the opening weekend celebrations, customers will be treated to a special guest appearance by Olaf the snowman from Disney’s sell-out film, Frozen from Thursday to Sunday. There will also be sought-after Frozen merchandise on sale at the store opening.

Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our very first store in Wisbech on Cromwell Retail Park offering consistent low value in a fantastic, convenient location and we look forward to opening our doors to savvy shoppers in the town.”
