By-election for Whittlesey ward of Fenland District Council to take place on October 25

A BY-election to fill a vacancy for the Whittlesey ward of St Mary’s on Fenland District Council will take place on October 25.

The election has been called, following the death of Councillor Ken Peachey.

The candidates will be: Colin Gale for Labour, indpendent Roy Gerstner, and Conservative Gary Swan.

The deadline for new applications to vote by post or to change existing postal or proxy arrangements e.g. cancellation or re-direction, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Fenland Hall, County Road, March, by 5.00 pm on Wednesday, October 10.

New applications to vote by proxy must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday October 17. The deadline for new applications to be received by the Electoral Registration Officer to vote by proxy on grounds of a medical emergency is not later than 5.00 pm on Thursday October 25.
