ARMY Cadets from all over Cambridgeshire put their first aid skills to the test under the watchful eye of four examiners from St. John Ambulance.

Thirty three youngsters, aged between 13 and 18, took part in an inter-company cadet competition at the Cadet Training Centre, Waterbeach, where practical skills tests decided the best of three teams and also the best overall cadet.

The team trophy was won by No.3 Company, based at Waterbeach, and team member Cadet Corporal Hazel Stimpson, 17, from Chatteris, won the Conway Cup for the best individual performance.
