March is preparing for its first ever Soap Box Derby – but needs more entries.
The March Lions’ inaugural event will take place during the Summer Festival on Sunday (June 11), but has only seen six entries so far.
The entry fee is £5 and an entry form – available by emailing Derek@rutter.force9.co.uk – must be completed.
A March Lions spokesman said: “The idea for the Soap Box Derby was that it would hopefully get March people more involved with events over the Gala weekend.
“Come on March – get involved and show us your stuff! It doesn’t have to be a Ferrari, just a wheel at each corner and a nut behind the wheel!
“If you want to take part you will be required to attend a briefing and to have your soap box checked.”
All entries will be invited to join the parade through March town centre on June 10. The race begins at 2pm the following day.
