Patients across Cambridgeshire can now receive quick healthcare advice and information on how to best deal with illness or injury by dialling NHS 111.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group launched the NHS 111, 24/7 service earlier this year for people who need medical attention quickly, but not urgently.

Patients can now call 111 when it’s less urgent than 999. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and is free of charge from landlines and mobiles.

Patients can also get information on local health services and advice on illnesses and injuries.

For urgent, life threatening emergencies such as stroke, blacking out, or rapid blood loss, patients should dial 999.
