Cambs police hunt for missing Wisbech teenager switched to March as house searched

THE hunt for a missing Wisbech teenager switched dramatically to March this week as police searched a house in the town.

The house was cordoned off as police conducted inquiries into the whereabouts of 17 year-old Latvian, Alisa Dmitrijeva.

A police spokesman said today: “We did have a scene preservation running as part of our missing from home inquiries for Alisa.

“The scene has now been lifted and this is routine procedure for our enquiries.”

One neighbour said: “The police were here for a good two days. There were a lot of people that looked forensics experts.

“They also took away at least one car to my knowledge.”

Meanwhile posters have been circulated around Wisbech in the search for a missing Latvian teenager as police reveal details of a car they want to trace.

Alisa has not been seen since shortly after midnight in Friars Street, King’s Lynn, on August 31. She was reported missing by a family member on September 6.

During the last week officers have carried out enquiries, checked CCTV and spoke to those who knew Alisa. Posters are also being distributed.

Today, police revealed they want to trace the movements of a P-registered green Lexus GS300. Police believe that it may have been in the King’s Lynn and Heacham areas in the early hours of August 31.

Det Chief Insp George Barr said: “Alisa’s family are very concerned about her as they have not seen or heard from her in more than two weeks.

“Alisa was seen in a green Lexus GS300 in King’s Lynn, but we don’t know where she went after that.

“I would urge anyone who saw this vehicle in the King’s Lynn or Heacham area in the early hours of August 31, or since, to call police.”

Earlier this week Det Insp Jon McAdam said: “It is not unusual for Alisa to stay away from home for several days but she always stays in touch with her family. We are concerned for her welfare.

“I would also urge Alisa to contact officers to let us know where she is.”

She is described as 5ft 6in, with collar length dark brown hair with blonde highlights. However her hair may now be darker with a fringe. She also has links to the Lincoln and Peterborough areas.
