A FULL house at March Camera Club welcomed guest speaker Jim L Hartje from Peterborough Photographic Society for last Thursday's tutorial lecture entitled 'A Digital Evening' - a look at the creative side of photography.

Using audio-visual presentations and specific tutorials he demonstrated ways of using various software to manipulate photographic images using treatments of his own photographs by way of example.

He was thanked by chairman Steve Williams.

On Monday the club competed against seven other clubs in the eighth Invitation Shield Competition organised by Wisbech and District Camera Club and held at Wisbech WI Hall.

The competition comprised of four print entries and four slide entries from each club and was judged by Anna Meek of Wymondham.

March were runners-up in the print section to Peterborough with John Band achieving the highest score for March with a maximum 10 for his colour print Wet Wet Wet . In the slide section March were fourth behind the winners Ely with Albert Horton achieving the highest score for March with a nine for his colour slide Light and Shade.

Overall March came third with 65.5 points, with Peterborough first (71 points), Wisbech second (66) and Ely third (65.5).
