THE RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre, near Wimblington, is looking for a new home for two of its more unusual residents.

Sid and Nancy are two eight-year-old Kune Kune pigs which came to the RSPCA after their owner could no longer care for them.

They have been kept as pets for the whole of their lives and will need a new owner who can keep them together in a small-holding or similar.

Kune Kune pigs need grazing land, with a stable or sty where they can keep warm and dry in the winter. In the summer they also need to wallow in mud to keep cool.

The pigs live to around 16-years-old and grow to about 24 to 30 inches high.

Sid, who is black, and cream-coloured Nancy, love to eat apples, grass and a variety of vegetables and fruit.

Block Fen Deputy Manager Vanessa Gautrey said: "The pigs love human company and having their bellies tickled. They are even used to being taken for short walks. They don't get up until 10am, but can be very noisy overnight as they snore for England!

"We are looking for someone who has the right knowledge and environment in which to keep these pigs.

"They also need someone who is prepared to care for them and give them attention for the rest of their lives."

Anyone interested in giving Sid and Nancy a new home, should contact Block Fen on 0870 906 1426.
