I HAVE read about the Jones family and the problems they have had getting glasses for their son.
I am in the same position with my daughter. She has a condition called Irlen syndrome which affects her visual perception, and the £250 for her glasses has to be met privately. She is also thought to have dyslexia, but the school only has so many spaces for the educational psychologist and she is not severe enough to qualify.
The only option is to go private.
As I can't afford the £300 for the test I can't get her officially diagnosed, which would mean her strengths and weaknesses could be better managed.
Any assistance would be gratefully received.
