Car owner gives chase as he spots thieves breaking in to steal stereo

THREE men were chased along High Street, Chatteris, after being spotted breaking into a car and stealing a stereo.

The car was in the Slade Way car park on Friday, October 26 when, at about 10.50pm the owner of the red Vauxhall Cavalier hatchback heard a disturbance and saw two men near the vehicle.

"The victim chased the men out of Slade Way along the High Street but lost sight of them," said Pc Ahmed Ishaq. "Three other men were also seen standing near the vehicle."

The first offender is described as white, aged between 16 and 20, about 5ft4in tall and wearing a black hat, a black fleece and dark blue jeans. The second is described as white, six feet tall, wearing all black clothing and a black hooded top.

Pc Ishaq said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the men in the Slade Way area or on the High Street at that time."
