Car seat safety experts will be on hand in the Play 2 Day car park in Guyhirn to pass on potentially life-saving knowledge for parents.
A recent EU study into child deaths relating to car seats revealed that nearly a third of parents installed them incorrectly.
The report found that 17 per cent of those that died were being transported in incorrectly installed car seats while figures released earlier this month by Good Egg Safety show a 13 per cent rise in badly fitted child car seats from 2010 to 2013.
Andrew Ratcliffe, Managing Director of Maxi-Cosi UK, said: “The correct fitting of car seats is absolutely vital to the safety of your child while travelling by car.
“Having experts on hand to physically highlight any problems and demonstrate the correct methods of fitting a child seat will make things easier for parents to understand.”
Trainers will also explain the new i-Size legislation introduced in July 2013, a new European safety regulation which addresses three major factors of the mandatory up to 15 months age for rear-facing car seats, integral ISO fix fittings in cars and improved side impact regulations.
The safety clinic is at Play 2 Day in The Old Station Yard, Gull Road, Guyhirn on Friday, May 9, from 11am to 4pm.
