DODDINGTON Carnival takes place tomorrow morning followed by the village sports in the afternoon.

The parade will assemble at the Three Tuns car park where the Havana Boys Steel Band will perform from 9.45am to 10.15am. Children are being asked to dress up for a fancy dress competition which will be judged at 10am in the car park.

The procession will be led by the Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers, followed by this year's carnival prince (Kieran Turner) and princess (Tamar Knott).

At 1.30pm the action moves to the recreation field. The children's sports will be first, and there will be a junior and senior marathon. Mums and dads will get the chance to get in on the action with a race especially for them.

Throughout the afternoon there will be a bouncy castle, games, refreshments and a barbecue.
