A CAT’S leg may have to be amputated after is was shot by an air rifle in Thorney Toll.

The owner found the injured one-year-old pet in her garden in Lindens Close on Sunday. The pet was treated at a veterinary surgery but may still need to have its back leg amputated.

Pc Shaun Mitchell said: “This has been a very distressing time for both the cat and its owner.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to call police.”
