Cavalry Primary School raises over £400 for Children In Need with 'spotty' cake sale
Pupils at Cavalry Primary School in March have gone all out for Children In Need this year with their charity efforts raising £423.05.
The children organised and ran a spotty cake sale to raise money for the charity on Friday November 17.
Cakes were donated by parents, children and staff at the school. Each class had the opportunity to visit the sale during the school day to buy a cake.
Steve Barclay, MP for North East Cambridgeshire, dropped in on the action to sample some of the cakes and talk to pupils.
Fiona Davis, year two teacher, said: “Steve Barclay was impressed by the wide variety of cakes on sale.
“At the end of the school day, we brought the cake sale outside to give parents the chance to buy a cake.”
Miss Amy Ellis, assistant headteacher, said she was delighted with the amount raised and thanked those who donated cakes and helped with the organisation of the event.
