A group of Year 3 pupils from Cavalry Primary School in March were the first children to get a tour of the renovated St Mary’s Church.
The children, accompanied by teachers, were welcomed to the church by Rev Anthony Chandler and Rev Jenny Webb.
They were then shown round the church by the church’s new organist Roger High, who also teaches at the school.
The pupils were fascinated by the building and took time to draw the new stained glass windows.
The highlight of the tour was a visit to the organ gallery to watch Mr High, with the help of his grandson Charles Pooley, put the new organ through its paces.
