A charity car boot event raised almost £300 for the Wisbech Lions Club.

The charity received £278.42 thanks to generous visitors to the Horsefair Shopping Centre when it held its second car boot sale of the year.

Kevin Smith, manager of the Horsefair Shopping Centre, said: “We had a very busy bank holiday at the Horsefair and the turn out on for the car boot was fantastic.

“People are always so generous and pitches soon got booked up. It’s great to be able to help a local charity and I’m sure the money will go a long way to help local good causes”.
