Two Wimblington men raised more than £8,000 by cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End in nine days.
Joe Clark and Kevin Doncaster cycled through sunshine, high winds and rain in memory of two friends who died of cancer and to help others who battle it.
The fundraising duo set off on the 1,000-mile trek as a tribute to former March Town secretary Mandy Welcher and Nick Wadsworth, who died from cancer in July 2017.
Joe said: “Last November Mandy lost her three-year battle with cancer. A truly wonderful woman who inspired everyone she met and brought a smile to everyone she spoke to.
“A loving mother, wife and grandmother, Mandy was so much to so many people. Mandy was more than just a friend to myself and my family helping the family through whatever issues we may have.
Kevin said: “Nick was an amazing friend to everyone around him, amazing father to his two children and an amazing husband to his wife.
“Nick was the life and sole and always had a smile. He had a good social life with a large group of friends and family who I know miss him terribly.
“I wanted to do something for him and to show his family who were robbed of decades of his life, that he was awesome and will never be forgotten.”
Joe added: “For two people like Mandy and Nick only a bike ride of this magnitude can come close to how important they were to the people around them.”
Joe and Kevin set off on June 16 from John O’Groats and made their way down the length of the UK towards Land’s End in Cornwall.
Joe said it was “by far the most difficult challenge I have set myself in my life, physically, mentally and emotionally”.
“Kevin and I carried our own supplies on the ride with no support vehicle, adding to the difficulty of the challenge. It was a serious challenge for us both.
“Having an opportunity to help contribute towards helping people suffering from the disease and also the families of these people is the underlying target for myself and Kevin.”
