Charity tea party is a special brew idea for seven people

An afternoon cuppa and a chat at tearooms in March was made possible for seven people thanks to a community project set up by a Chatteris firm.
The eight people were treated to a free brew and a slice of cake after ALS Food and Pharmaceutical, of Chatteris, set up the event with the help of the Tea Parlour in the market place.
“A table for eight was kindly donated by the tea parlour and Dart Taxis helped transport the customers to their tables,” explained Lisa Salisbury, section head at ALS.
“The project is part of a plan by our firm to get involved in more community schemes to help people locally.”
Residents of Elliott Lodge and Upwell Park, in March, enjoyed the teatime treat.
ALS is encouraging staff to get more involved with community projects, including volunteering to help on the befriending scheme.
Ms Salisbury said: “The aim is to take responsibilty within the community where we work and live.”
