The event, held at the firm’s Chatteris office, will take place on Friday, September 14 and is for anyone who wishes to speak a member of staff regarding Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Will advice or Family Law matters.

Kim Neal, Wills and Probate solicitor at the firm, said: “There are many advantages to appointing one or more attorneys under a LPA but primarily you will have greater control over what happens should you be unable to look after your own affairs.

“We often think about the possibility of this towards the end of our life but it is important to consider other eventualities such as an accident or an illness which renders you unable to make your own decisions.

“I would strongly recommend that anyone over the age of 18 takes advantage of our free advice day and comes and obtains advice about how an LPA may assist them.”

Director and family solicitor, Sarah Fairbrother, will also be on-hand to answer questions on any family issues you may be facing.

She said: “Our joint advice day will enable you to ask questions with regard to any aspect of separation, divorce, arrangements for children, cohabitation agreements, issues for couples who live together and have not entered any formal arrangements as to their relationship as well as help with planning ahead with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.”

“As with all legal matters, we strongly recommend that people seek advice as early in the process as they can. Our free advice day will enable you to ask any questions you may have together with the benefits of meeting face to face with a local solicitor.”

Ward Gethin Archer’s Chatteris office is one of nine branches across Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

The Chatteris office was first opened in summer 2016 after the successful acquisition of Cartwright & Co Solicitors following Gordon Cartwright’s retirement.

The Chatteris office was recently named as a finalist in the Fenland Enterprise Business Awards in the category for Customer Service. The winners are to be announced in October.
