A Chatteris-born author has released his second book, ‘Life by the Tale’, following the success of his novel ‘Rocks Don’t Cry’.
Cyril Holbrook, who says his writing skills were learned whilst working at the Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard, has compiled a selection of short stories for the book.
It includes the tale of a warm-hearted Russian soldier’s Christmas gift, a life-saving North Sea rescue, and how an Englishman changes life for an oriental call girl.
“Some of them have been published before but most have never been seen,” he said, having retired and moved to Norfolk.
“Among them is the story of a wild boar hunt, a Fenland murderer and a car thief operating in Spain.”
‘Life by the Tale’ is available from bookshops and on Amazon.
