The King Edward Centre was the venue for the supper which included a first course buffet with cold meats, poached salmon and a variety of salads, followed by desserts of Pavlova, summer pudding, peach and sponge tart and cheese and biscuits.

The sell out evening was organised by volunteers from the cinema who rated it a huge success.

Tina Prior said: “Well done everyone, I was very impressed with the quality of not just the food but the way the event was professionally hosted.”

The cinema’s next screening is on Saturday May 7 at 10.30am: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (doors open at 10am). The latest in the iconic saga.

Then at 7.30pm: Suffragette (doors open at 7pm). A drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement.

If you reserve a ticket, but cannot make the screening, please notify the cinema so other people can have an opportunity to watch the film. Tickets: Children (under 16) £3.00 and adults £4.
