Community groups in Chatteris can apply for a share of a £10,000 windfall fund set up by Tesco after the town’s planned store was mothballed.
Chatteris Town Council is inviting applications from organisations for projects which will benefit the people of the town. Closing date is November 30, with applications considered in December.
Grants will be for up to £1,000 and will not be made towards the ordinary running expenses of organisations. The money will have to be spent on enhancing the facilities of an organisation, buying equipment or a specific project.
Only one application will be allowed per organisation and the amount of any approved grant should be spent within 12 months, otherwise the offer may be withdrawn unless there is a justifiable reason.
