MAYOR of Chatteris Councillor Peter Murphy and his wife, Angela, asked for donations instead of gifts when they celebrated a special wedding anniversary.

At a party for family and friends marking their 40th anniversary the couple asked for donations to share between Tennyson Lodge and Alder Close, both learning disability establishments in March.

With donations totalling £1120, each unit received a cheque for £560 for new sensory projects.
