Staff at the Chatteris branch of Harrison Murray are asking people to donate food items to help Ely Food Bank ahead of Christmas.

With their shopping trolley - donated by Aldi - the estate agency team are asking clients if they can spare a few non-perishable food items for people less well off.

All contributions will be donated to the Ely Food Bank, which is part of the Trussell Trust, to be put into parcels containing three days’ worth of food for struggling families.

Myra Alvin, sales negotiator, said: “As we head into the colder months of the year and towards Christmas it’s really important that we think about people in need and we are really pleased to be supporting such a great cause.

“In our business we spend a lot of time helping people onto, and along, the property ladder but it is very much our company ethos too to make sure that we remember those less fortunate too, particularly in our local communities.”

Anyone wanting to make a food donation (items must have at least three months left on their expiry date) can donate to Harrison Murray Estate Agency, 46 High Street, Chatteris, PE16 6BH.
