Women's InstituteTHE February WI meeting took place at the King Edward Centre with Valerie Wool presiding.Speaker was Joan Walton, whose programme was entitled Flower Festivals, which included colour slides of flower arrangements and stained glass depicting the festivals in the Church calendar. The slides had been taken in various churches throughout the country, including Chatteris. Mrs Walton was thanked by Susan Kightley.After refreshments, the competition for the month was 'A Painted Egg' and points awarded were S Druce 10, M Curtis nine, A Rignall eight,; L Brookes seven, J Hodson, F Aspinal, R Goodger, F Edwards and S Salt six.Raffle winners were M Dordery, F Edwards, S Druce and H Pestill.Members were reminded that at the next meeting on Thursday, April 13, at King Edward Centre (7pm), the speaker will be Hayley Raynor on 'Dogs for the Disabled' and the competition 'Carrot Cake'.
