THE Fenland one stop shop in Chatteris is on the move very soon – but it’s not going far.
It will close its doors in the High Street for the last time at noon on Saturday, August 3, prior to opening up again a few days later in the new Chatteris Community Hub just down the road.
The shop is being relocated in the Library at Furrowfields as part of the new all-in-one community hub.
All Fenland District Council’s services will still be available there, alongside the public library and more general Cambridgeshire County Council services.
There will also be a new self-service payment machine for paying council bills.
The move will take a few days, so the shop will be closed from Monday August 5 to Thursday August 8 inclusive.
However, over those days people will still be able to contact the council as normal by ringing 01354 654321 Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and Saturday, 9am-noon) or by going online at www.fenland.gov.uk
The new hub will open on Friday, August 9 at 10am.
After that the FDC shop hours will be the same as those of the library – an improvement on the present service.
The new opening hours will be:
Monday: 10am-5pm, Tuesday: 2-5pm, Wednesday: 10am-5pm, Thursday: Closed, Friday: 10am-5pm, Saturday: 10am-1pm, Sunday: Closed.
The Citizens’ Advice Bureau will continue to provide a drop-in service at the hub on Mondays (10am-1pm), starting on August 12. But remember they will not be available on Tuesday August 6.
