REGARDING your story last week about Fenland District Council’s refusal of planning permission to change the use of a home in Chatteris into a care leavers’ home.
A police force architectural liaison officer told the council: “A more structured community, providing facilities and accommodation to assist young adults with the knowledge and capacity to go out into society as a valued member, would decrease calls to the emergency services.”
It sounds like he’s just repeating what the applicant has told him, but a probably personal opinion has been presented to committee as being a professional one.
