DELIGHTED students at Cromwell Community College in Chatteris have raised more than 900 for comic relief - and Barclays bank have agreed to match their effort.

The students - decked out in fancy dress - held cake stalls at break time, completed sponsored silences and even had pies thrown at them to help boost their fundraising.

And the bank’s generous donation has pushed the total up towards a staggering 2,000.

Jackie Harding, from the school, said: “They had a very good day and we raised much more than we expected to. The students really took it on board and we are delighted that the bank have given us that bonus.”
