A FENLAND primary school got the bank holiday weekend off to an early start today.
They dressed in red, white and blue and ate their lunch in the playground street party style.
Children and staff at Coates Primary School, Cambridgeshire, listened to typical wedding music as they ate traditional British fayre - shepherds pie, bangers and mash, trifle and Victoria sponge.
Head teacher Joanne Tomlins said: “We’ve had a right royal atmosphere this lunchtime.
“Everyone got into the spirit of the royal wedding, dressing in their patriotic clothes and waving flags.
“We just hope William and Kate enjoy their special day as much as the children here have enjoyed ours.”
