While children learned about their eyes, parents enjoyed various fund-raising activities including a cake sale and an in-store raffle to win prizes including designer frames.

Trevor Clark, store director, said: “We had lots of fun things planned for our Easter party and would like to thank customers and staff for their generosity.

“The support that East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices provides to the local community is invaluable and we are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the charity.”

Mark Loades, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices fund-raiser, said: “We are delighted to have the support of Specsavers stores in the Anglia region and hope that the local community support the March store’s fund-raising efforts.”

Among the children who visited the clinic, last Thursday, was Elliott James. He received a new pair of glasses from dispensing consultant James Burden.

Elliott’s mum Harriet James described the event as an “absolutely fantastic service, with very friendly staff. A hassle-free and fun experience”.
