A housing association has pledged to send out workers to look at the rat problem in a block of flats in Chatteris.
A young mum called for Circle to sort the issue after rats infested her home behind skirting boards and one that even found its way into her oven.
Now, Circle Housing say they are sending out somebody to look at the problem - although it is not clear if it is to Kel Ann Wilding who called for the rat issue to be cleared, or another tenant suffering problems.
A spokesman said: “We were first made aware of a problem with rats at Treeways by another tenant on Friday 3 November.
“We immediately referred this to our repairs service and an external contractor has made an appointment to attend on Wednesday 15 November.
“A community warden also attended on Monday (November 6) to clear out the bin store and replace the bins.’
Kel Ann is calling for the housing association to sort out a rat infestation that she believes started when the bin sheds were swamped with rubbish bags from residents.
She said of the rats: “They are huge, there’s a hole under the sink, it look like there has been a problem before and they’ve tried to block it with a bit of wood but they’ve chewed through it.
“My partner’s dad came round and took off the skirting board. As they came out he killed them.
“Knowing they are there is horrible, you can hear them running about.
“I am on benefits so I can’t afford to get pest control out but this is a problem that looks like it was there before.
“It is unfair to expect me to pay for pest control when I am not the one who caused the rat problem in the fist place,” she said.
