The toilets at the edge of West End park in March have been closed for good.
A decision was made to permanently shut the City Road toilet block after it was felt it would cost too much to update broken equipment.
The men’s and ladies toilets were subjected to vandalism and dirty protests, say councillors. They were shut for good on July 1.
The George Campbell Leisure Centre will allow audiences of summer concerts to use their toilet facilities.
March Town Council took over the running of the toilets from Fenland District Council when it was announced in they were going to shut them in 2013.
Now, Fenland will take back ownership of the building.
The toilets were open for six months during the summer and were visited four times a day by a cleaning team in a bid to keep on top of vandalism and hygiene, town councillors say.
But they decided it was costing too much to keep them open.
A wash unit in the ladies has broken and would cost thousands to replace, and until it was fixed, toilets could not operate as it was a health and safety issue.
Martin Field, town councillor, said he was disappointed the public were not given a chance to have their say and saddened to see another public service go.
