The mayor of March Andrew Pugh and councillors Jan French and Gavin Philpott consulted a group of Neale Wade Academy students last week on their vision for the future of March town.
Academy Parliament students gave their views and wish lists about what they would like to see in their town of the future, from leisure and shopping facilities to where best to build new roads and schools.
Giant maps gave students the chance to see their town from a new perspective and gain an understanding into planning for a successful and user friendly March where people and businesses will want to come and stay.
One student said: “It really made us think about our town in a different way”.
Cllr Pugh said: “The students were engaging and very proactive with their thoughts and the team left with a clear view of what the students’ thoughts were and where they wanted March to be in 20 years.
“They all put their ideas forward and thought carefully about over-crowding and transport issues in the town.
“Increased housing and shopping facilities were discussed along with the positioning of new schools and adult education centres.
