A CIVIL servant accused of obtaining almost £10,000 worth of money transfer orders by deception from the Department of Work and Pensions has been committed to stand trial at Cambridge Crown Court.
Stacey Hunt, 25, of Harolds Bride, Gorefield, faces 17 charges, alleging false claims for community care grants and job seeker's allowance.
It is alleged she obtained seven money transfers for sums between £650 and £1,300, on dates between October 6 2004 and February 24 2005, by claiming four different people were entitled to community care grants. The other 10 charges relate to money transfers in respect of job seeker's allowance.
Fenland magistrates gave her conditional bail until she appears in the Cambridge court for a plea and directions hearing on June 16.
