THIRTY-ONE members of the class of 1951 from the Hereward Girls' Secondary School, March, met on Tuesday to celebrate their 70th birthdays.
The reunion took place at the town's Oliver Cromwell Hotel, where many of the women met for the first time in 55 years. They had travelled from as far as the USA and all parts of the United Kingdom.
"It was excellent seeing everyone again," said organiser Pearl Morton. "We mostly recognised each other and had plenty to talk about. It was lovely to see how people had blossomed since their schooldays and many have done very well for themselves."
The girls, pictured here posing for the camera during their reunion, hope to have another reunion in two years' time, when others who could not make this year's reunion might be able to attend.
