Classic car owners in Wisbech have been told to be on high alert after a vintage vehicle was stolen.

Charlotte Mackelden is offering a reward for the safe return of her classic Daimler DS420, which thieves broke through a 12 foot security gate to steal on the early hours of Tuesday January 19.

Ms Mackelden, who has owned the car for five years, said: “I am distraught and don’t want it to end up on the banger track. It could be anywhere in the UK right now. My Dad restored the car and we’re quite fond of it.”

The car, which is black over ivory in colour and has a distinctive flag pole mount, works for the Limousine & Photography Team based in Wisbech and carried the flower queens for the last two Wisbech Rose Fair parades.

It is believed that thieves broke through a 12 foot-tall fence before breaking into the car, replacing its battery and driving it away.

If anyone has any information on the stolen car, please call Charlotte Mackelden on 07935 054947 or call 101 and quote CF0026270116.
