Schoolgirl Isabel Coleman is set to brave the cut to raise money for charity and help young cancer sufferers.
The 12-year-old from Coates, who is a pupil at the Arthur Mellows Village College in Peterborough, will have at least seven inches cut off her currently flowing locks for the Little Princess Trust.
The charity provides wigs for cancer sufferers and others who have lost their hair as a result of medical conditions.
Isabel’s mum Vicky Coleman explained: “Isabel has been growing her hair especially for this for over six months now. She decided to do it after seeing a 17-year-old family friend lose her hair through cancer.
“I think she was quite shocked by it and decided she wanted to do something to help people like our friend.”
Isabel will undergo the chop at Vittorio’s salon in Broad Street, Whittlesey on March 11 and they have set up a justgiving page so people can sponsor Isabel.
To make a donation visit: justgiving.com/fundraisingvittorioshair. Or pop into the salon, which is located in the Old School House.
