Hundreds visited the Oliver Cromwell Hotel, March, on Friday to help raise more than £450 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cakes and coffee were on sale as well as raffle tickets at the fundraiser which was organised by the Mutual Interests Group.

Maureen Coker, group leader, said: “We had a nice, steady flow of people coming through and we’re very grateful for all the cakes that people made to be sold.”

Gary Tinker helped with advertising the event and organised a raffle.

“It was a joint effort,” added Mrs Coker. “We just really wanted to do something to help Macmillan.”
