The Visual Arts department at the College of West Anglia’s Isle campus celebrated another successful year and rounded of a week of shows with an awards ceremony.
Prizes were presented by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wisbech, Councillor Michael Hill and Jane Hill, and MP Steve Barclay. The work produced by students was displayed in the college’s ArtSpace gallery and studio.
The event drew to a close the exhibition ‘It’s Our Exhibition 2014’, which ran all week at the campus.
The exhibition also included the range of fashion garments, which had been a part of the fashion shows held this year at Elme Hall Hotel.
Also on the night, awards were presented to budding 11-16 year-old designers and photographers who entered three competitions run by the college’s Visual Arts Department.
The annual Fashion Challenge Competition was won by Jemima Wakefield from Spalding High School, who was presented with a sewing machine by Councillor Hill and Mayoress Hill.
Fellow Spalding High School pupil Anne Taylor won the T-shirt design competition and Tom White from the King’s School, Peterborough, won the photography competition.
