THE Come and Be Heard Group was entertained by Stan Rust, from Wimblington at the monthly meeting. Mr Rust spoke of his time as a ferryman in Twickenham, starting off with a rowing boat, then adding an outboard motor and eventually designing a motor boat as a modern replacement. He also told of his fascination for songs and monologues, giving several examples.
At the next meeting, on May 26, at the George Clare surgery (2-4pm), the speaker will be Ernie Hall with more tales of East Anglia. All people with hearing difficulties, and their friends are welcome. Transport is available.
