THE 'Come and Be Heard Group welcomed Robert Girkin from the RSPB as its October speaker. Members enjoyed a slide show of garden birds, accompanied by bird songs, and were given information regarding recognition and feeding habits of different species.
This was the last meeting to be held at the George Clare Surgery, as the room is now required for medical use. As a gesture of appreciation, the group donated £50 for medical equipment and gave the surgery staff a gift of chocolates.
Next month the group will meet at Lyon's Court on November 24, when members will be given a talk about the Cambs Bobby Scheme. Transport is available. All those with hearing difficulties are welcome. For further information, contact 01354 692381.
