CHATTERIS Come and Be Heard group held its eighth annual meeting at Lyon's Court. The chairman, secretary and treasurer all read their reports for the last 12 months, and they were adopted. Cheryl Cornwell was re-elected chairman. Roy Lee resigned as vice-chairman due to ill health. He was presented with a gift and Janet Ashman was elected joint vice-chairman and treasurer. Barbara Kingman was re-elected secretary. Muriel Sutton and Hilary Coates were re-elected to the committee. Tony Harlock and Jean Watts agreed to join the committee and Janet Lee and Peggy Bettell agreed to be volunteers.

After the business part of the meeting, Major Richard Powell gave a talk on the history of military music. As members left the meeting they were given daffodils donated by Maurice Crouch.

At the next month, at Lyons Court on Friday April 27 (2-4pm) speaker will be Lawrence Smith on garden design.
