A MARCH factory was decked out in red today as Fenmarc Produce marked Comic Relief by growing special ‘Rudolph’ potatoes.
Scarlet-clad workers at the vegetable growing and packing business donated money to take home some of the spuds - which have a vibrant red skin.
Gemma Davis, marketing coordinator, said: “Colleagues from all areas of our business love to get involved in both national and local charity events.
“We jumped at the opportunity to enjoy our red Rudolph potatoes whilst at the same time raising money for Comic Relief - a great charity surrounded by red noses, whilst we’re surrounded by red potatoes.”
The special potato, said to have a naturally sweet flavour, was named as a finalist in the “Best New Variety” category of the Grower of the Year Awards 2011.
