THE annual meeting of the Community Centre was held in the main hall. Co-chairman Rex Mallett gave the yearly report, stating that the hall had bought 50 new chairs to match the existing ones, and a new cooker for the kitchen. He thanked Ken Buckle who had resigned as treasurer and secretary. He is succeeded by Jayne Sinnott as secretary and Richard Meadows as treasurer. The next fund-raising events will be a supper and cabaret evening on January 27 and a bingo on February 23. The playing field had been kept in good order during the year. A new set of crockery could be obtained but it was felt the hall already had enough. The booking secretary reported that hall bookings were up on the previous year and new lights were to be erected around the hall to stop cars gathering at the back.
