GUEST of honour at March Rotary Club's international night at the Conservative Club was Richard Alston, Australian High Commissioner to the UK.Mr Alston who was born in Perth, Western Australia. took up his appointment as Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in February 2005 following a distinguished career in the Australian Parliament. Between March 1996 and October 2003 he was a senior Cabinet Minister with responsibility for communications, information technology and the arts.He gave a talk about Australia, its place on the world stage and its close relationship with the United Kingdom.After answering many questions he was thanked by John Orbell.Also among the guests were Bill Redmayne of Wisbech, District Governor 1080 and his wife Dorothy.
